josh's hand in bay ridge

josh's hand in bay ridge, originally uploaded by kris!.

Hi there

Sorry I have been pretty negligent in making posts to Bay Ridge Blog. I have been very busy at work, and the posts I have made recently have been to View From 103.

I'm thinking of combining the two sites, which would mean folding the other one into Bay Ridge Blog. It would still be Bayridgecentric, but would also feature my blatherings about other things. Will decide quickly.

New Look at Bay Ridge Blog

I hope you like it. I found this new template here. The template is called " iconic ".

The old imagery often had misaligned columns, which does not appear to be a problem here. It looks simple and clean. I've used the same template next door in the View From 103.

Subway Sandwich Shop

subwaystore 001, originally uploaded by bayridgephantom.

A Subway sandwich shop which opened on the corner at 68th Street and Fourth Avenue on or about June 8, 2006. It looks as though it is an Eastern European couple that own the place. Its clean and the sandwiches are good.

Sleeping Token Clerk at Bay Ridge Avenue!

Sleeping Bay Ridge Beauty
This past Friday's NY Post reports that a token clerk at Bay Ridge Avenue was caught sleeping on the job, with his shoes off! The 43 year old man was busted at 2am by subway rider Nathan Switzer, who took a picture of the clerk with his camera phone. He then e-mailed them to the NY Post, which couldn't wait to print the story.

This past January, the Post reported on another clerk, who was caught sleeping at a Manhattan station during the day. The earlier man was fired.

The guy in the photo? He's somebody else entirely. If you see him, don't talk too loudly. You might wake him up.

Lets Go www.brooklynmetfan.com!
Added the Brooklyn Blogroll of Honor is Brooklyn Met Fan. He'll also be added to the blogroll at View from 103, the companion to this site. Don't know what part of Brooklyn the author of this site hails from. Back in the 1960s nearly everyone in Bay Ridge and in Brooklyn was a Met fan, and you had to be a weirdo to root for the Yankees. Thats no longer true--but the Mets are on the way up, which won't hurt them as they try to compete on what used to be their undisputed home turf.

On the N Train Approaching 59th Street

I almost never sleep on the subway. But lots of people sleep on the trains all the time, and are able to wake up when they get to their station. Not me. I can't do that.
